Mind-Body Sports Medicine by Adam LaSerna, Bodycoach Sports

.
Hi Adam,
.
I watched two heavy weights go blow for blow last night...Not a boxing match, a Big League AB. Evan "Almighty" Longoria facing the Red Sox' Pabelbon. Longo is a long-time Heads-up Baseball devotee, having worked with Ken Ravizza when he was at Long Beach State. Now Ken works with him on the Rays. Papelbon is really, really good. The "blow by blow" comes from watching their pre-pitch deep breaths. Both guys went with multiple cheeks-puffedex hales. Like Clemens used to do. It's my favorite exhale style -- you have to relax your face to do it well. Inhale to the belly if you can, then puff your cheeks to exhale. The exhale is where the letting go happens, so stretch it out nice and long. It's nice to even see a little lip flapping, means you're even more relaxed. So the camera showed Longoria with two big exhales as he steps in the box, then cut to Pabelbon doing his funky thing (all bent over, etc), then letting go of a full-cheeked breath. I loved it. Sometimes players are self-conscious about people seeing> them take a breath. But just have them watch for breaths on TV.
They might be blown away by what they see.?
.
Sincerely,

"All living beings had to have been a thought. Science tells us matter is seen and unseen. Energy and thought are unseperate forms of matter. In the Beginning teaches mankind that God thought "Creation" and here we are. Are we mechanical beings that think about being or are we thought with a mechanical being? The quiet voice is energy and your mind combined, it's you, your power to use at will. Calling upon it is an art and science which can be taught to just about any person or athlete for amateur and professional competition purposes. Understanding it and learning it can be taught by an experienced coach or trainer such as myself or others for human peak performance in almost every area of your life."

Today I interviewed Coach Dan Huff who is a baseballfitness expert. He's been doing a lot of work with young players and Ithought it might be helpful for those of you who work withyounger players to hear some of his thoughts on strengthand conditioning training. I know I don't know as much as I want to about this topic;Coach Dan is filling a big hole with this one.
